How to incorporate Behringer 2496 as EQ? (BD-Design)

Hi Vik

I'd rather use the Behringer for my bass only. As opposed to the full
range implementation, on the bass frequencies I did not notice a decreased
sound quality.

Hmm... in my case, I thought the Behringer did tighten up the bass and also offered a wider soundstage with the room correction PEQ and GEQ setup.

It should work if you are using it for the bass bins only, but a low pass filter would be required to filter off frequencies where you would cross to the horns. Ideally, the filter should have some attenuation capabilities in order to match the different sensistivity between the horn and the bass units.

I've not tried the above though, so experimentation is required ;-) . My future plan is to build the onken cabs on Bert's site with the 25W vifa drivers. This will be driven by 120W chip amps with the input signal going thru an active filter.

Btw, what is the reason for using PEQ on the Behringer for the bass? I used PEQ to flatten the peaks after doing a sweep of my room mode.

Cheers
