Quasar... (BD-Design)

Hi Scott,

Where do I find the detail on the EQ and wiring plans for the Quasar? Are
there any options in design for the EQ...is it digital, active or could I
use a series crossover?

The system as suggested is "active" and based on the same principle as standard with the Oris systems (i.e. passive line-filter, BD30, etc.). The filter and EQ is set within the crossover parts which are included within the package.

A serial filter could work well too but I have not tried this enough on the Quasar MkII to be able to give you usable details about that. With a serial filter the system will be less flexible in regards to tune it to your room easily though. The bass with such a filter will be much less tight when used on an amp without feedback (like most SET amps are) .

For these reasons I will stick to my own design principles, you're free to do things differently but I can't give much support on that.

A digital filter with room EQ is in the pipe-line. This digital EQ with system pre-sets will be based on an active system like the Oris systems, the Quasar... but that device is not finished yet.

Ciao,

Bert
