Foobar V0.9.2 versus V0.83 (Off Topic)

by DeMarko @, Tuesday, July 25, 2006, 12:52 (6479 days ago) @ Bert

Bert, you have answers as always!

One thing is not clear, why rename the directory.

Here is what I did + things for your manual

- Uninstalled Foobar 9.2
- Installed Foobar 8.3 in Foobar2000 folder somewhere on the C: drive (not in the Program Files)
- Created a new folder in this Foobar2000 folder (called it AAA for example)
- In this AAA folder installed Foobar 9.2
- Deleted all files/folders from Foobar2000 folder except the AAA folder
- Cut-pasted all files and folders from AAA to Foobar2000 folder

QUESTION: Is this what you meant?
QUESTION: Do I need to re-install usb-audio.de after that you think??

Now additional things to do with Foobar2000
- Installed usb_audio driver from usb-audio.de
- Downloaded from Foobar2000.com foo_out_asio.dll (zip file to be unzipped)
- Copied file foo_out_asio.dll to the Components folder in the Foobar2000 folder
- In the Foobar2000 Preferences changed the following:
- In the Advanced changed the File Buffer to 200 000 000
- In the Playback for Regain features chose None
- In the Playback Output, Asio Virtual Devices, Add New: chose usb-audio.de Asio Driver
- In the Playback Output, in the Output Devices chose ASIO: usb-audio.de ASIO driver
- In the Playback Outbut Buffer Length left at 1000ms
- Dither is also left unticked

This is it I hope!

Cheers,
Dmitry.

Hi Dmitry,

Somehow the options "Play in Foobar2000" and "Enqueue in Foobar2000"

(when

I click on the right mouse button on a music album in Windows XP) are

now

gone once I switched from Foobar 8.3 to 9.2... kind of inconvenient to
what I am used to.

...Hm... is there a solution?

I found out the same but you can fool Windows.... (or edit the
registery....).

You should first uninstall V09.2...

...then install V0.83 (give the directory a name like Foobar V0.93) so
that the links are working again for that directory. Then install V0.92 in
a renamed directory (whatever the name is but keep it in the same main
directory as the other foobar folder).

Now empty the whole directory of the previously installed V0.83 (do not
rename!!) and copy all the V09.2 files into the empty directory.

Should work again...

Ciao,

Bert
