EAC and Black Carbon CD-R (Off Topic)
Hi Klaus
Key to the issue is the CDROM drive itself! If you don't have the best
drive, your results will suffer. Get yourself a Plextor Premium 2!
Your sound impressions imply jitter-effects to me.
Likely. I have a TEAC CDROM drive in my PC of unknown quality.
I applied CD-Cleaner
Cut the edges and painted the edges and all free areas black
"Demagnitized" the CD
And used a CD mat.
(And don't forget to install a green LED over your drive-head! Though I
couldn't apply this tweak.)Yes - I am not joking here!
I know.
Playing a CD without above is like listeing through a towel!
He he...
Luckily my CD days are over. Nothing is better than playback from RAM,
even my highly modded CDs are far away from being competetive.
I would neither base my future playback system on the CD's, but prefere to up-grade when a "plug&play" ultimate user friendly SW is ready for the use of mortal amateurs like me...
