I wonder about their reported sensitivities. Is the DX3 capable of over
100dB unless it is front-loaded? Even rear loading only brings up the
lower end, right?

Bob

I would not expect at least looking to the small open gab in their boxes, which of physical reasons caNot be so broadbanded, that they have no significant cabinet amplification and help for the very low efficiency of the driver itself at 20 - GCx Hz.
A Bert horn will keep the driver *Lowther linear* down to say 200 Hz adding a final amplification of 18 db, but under that frequency, the port visible should then at 40 Hz i.e. contribute with at least 36 db given the stated liniarity should be true. A port caNot do that even there is a horn behind it.

More likely is that the driver is smoothened (flatened) by an internal filter? And of course there is more to this cabinet such as Helmholtz resonators, but they are antiphase absorbers, not amplifiers.

Something does'nt fit between data stated and real life if we talk about a naked unfiltered driver.

But one thing is physical possiblilities, another thing is *marketing*.

However the Teresonic speakers might shine anyhow.
