Room Acoustics (Off Topic)

I have been refining my room acoustics and have a question that pertains to horns. When determining the first order reflection point off the side wall(s), where would one determine the direct line to the speaker?

When I attempt to reflect a beam of light off a side wall mirror from my listening position, I am unable to direct the reflection to the speaker cone due to its recess within the horn. Would the proper target be the apex of the horn curve?
