Gainclone amps (BD-Design)

Hi,

Has anyone experimented with a low power single chip SS amp (perhaps even battery supplied), just looking around and there are some simple low cost DIY amps around. Any good?

PS 4mv of hum from my WAD KAT88 amp through the oris gives a nice solid foundation to the music :^(
