Hi Brian,

PS 4mv of hum from my WAD KAT88 amp through the oris gives a nice solid
foundation to the music.

Can't you make the amp more quiet? Is that the cause for your hum because 4mV isn't that much to give a solid foundation...perhaps you've a ground loop somewhere?

Simple test is to disconnect one channel completely (inputs too) to hear if the hum is the same. If it is much less then it is not the 4mV that is causing the hum...
