Singular bass response w FE206? (BD-Design)

Bert - thanks - that accords with what someone else said to me recently. Also I found someone's webpage who had built a smaller version of the Fostex-recommended horn for a 4 inch Fostex driver, with good results. Since this design is a lot easier to build than most horns (no attempt is made at a genuinely continuous expansion of the horn), I've decided to go for it. I wonder how the 207s differ from the 206? The specs are v. similar.

Hi Gary,

I am debating whether to build the Singular using the FE206, or the
Fostex-recommended back-loaded horn. Does anyone know how they would
compare? The Singular is simpler to build, obviously. Perhaps the more
complicated design produces bass better, or has other virtues?

The Singular provides deeper bass but less strong as with a good horn. A
real horn is a better choice for the Fostex FE206E's as the FE207E's are a
better choice for the Singular. I never heard the Fostex horn so I can't
comment on its performance.

Ciao,

Bert
