Hallo Bert,
do you know the sensitivity (2.83 V/1m) of your singular with the fostex 206
and the Frequency Range +/-3dB (Hz)?

Hallo Marcel,

do you know the sensitivity (2.83 V/1m) of your singular with the fostex
206

The sensitivity is the same as the driver (98dB)

and the Frequency Range +/-3dB (Hz)?

I do not know the exact -3dB point but usefull output goes at least down to the resonance frequency of the driver.

The FE206E needs an EQ to reduce its rising high frequency response when used in the Singular though...

Ciao,

Bert

With the EQ-network too?
Or can I use the fostex 206e without the EQ-network?
I want to use the 206e in the Singular because I want to use the 206 later in one of your Oris-Horns.
Or works the Fostex 207e in your Oris-Horns as good as the 206e?

Hallo Marcel,

With the EQ-network too?

The EQ reduces the higher mid-frequencies, the sensitivity will be lower there.

Or can I use the fostex 206e without the EQ-network?

Yes, you can use it without EQ but then the sound might be too bright.

Listening off-axis does reduce the high frequency energy too though.

Or works the Fostex 207e in your Oris-Horns as good as the 206e?

The FE207 will become too dull, not enough energy in the high frequencies for a balanced sound. The FE206E will do better job overall...

Bert

there.

Is a little Amp. with 2x8 Watts enouth for using the 206 with EQ or is the sensitivity too low?
How much lower will be the sensitivity because of the EQ?

Hallo Marcel,

sensitivity too low?

You'll have plenty of power with 8 Watts, even with EQ. No worries... :)

How much lower will be the sensitivity because of the EQ?

About 3dB less (depending on the resistor value your using in the end).

Ciao,

Bert
