Just purchased a pair of AER MD3 drivers in perfect shape. They should arrive here in a month or so. I've also decided about the rest of the system: LaScala bass horns with Klipsch K33 drivers will be driven by a 20 watt Gainclone. I intend to use Marchand Electronics active crossover modules for the bass because my 300B amps somehow hum and I think the humming would be very high through the 104dB horns.

I will appreciate suggestions on crossover points and recommended slopes. Changing these with the Marchand is cheap and easy so I would like to buy three or four points/slopes upfront.

I should be placing the order for the Oris 150s in a few weeks.

Hi Xavier,

I do not know the exact frequency curve of the Klipsch LaScala with the K33 drivers. To keep the "noise" down from the higher bass frequencies and to have the phase of both the horns the same polarity I would go for 24dB slopes set to 140, 160, 180 and 200Hz. While testing these filters you can also play around with the back chamber of the Oris horns a bit (with MDF cover or without).

Don't ask why, just play with it so that you can hear what is happening...

Ciao,

Bert
