Mounting informations needed (BD-Design)

by GC, Monday, April 03, 2006, 11:55 (6592 days ago)

I just get a pair of AER MD1 from Bert which will replace a pair of Fostex 208-sigma in my front MDF horns. But I can reuse the same mounting holes nor the same alignment (holes would be to close) and I have to "lean" the AER slighty to screw it firmly. So, I think there is no sound problem about this with a full range, but I just want to be sure ! Can we for example put the speaker posts upside ?

Thanks in advance

Dear Jean-François,

I just get a pair of AER MD1 from Bert which will replace a pair of Fostex
208-sigma in my front MDF horns. But I can reuse the same mounting holes
nor the same alignment (holes would be to close) and I have to "lean" the
AER slighty to screw it firmly. So, I think there is no sound problem
about this with a full range, but I just want to be sure ! Can we for
example put the speaker posts upside ?

First, the frame of the AER should NOT be "stressed". Not firm or too tight either, it is not a wheel of a car and besides that, the AER will sound better if you do not do this. I would drill a few new holes so that you can use some simple screws to mount the AER's.

The binding posts can be positioned in any direction.

Ciao,

Bert
