smashed whizzer cone at FE206 (Drive Units)

Hi,

My little nephew got hold of the whizzercone of one of my FE206E speakers.
He folded the whizzer.
I managed to put it back to it's originaly shape. It looks oke now, but very faint lines can be seen where the whizzer folded. What should I do?
As far as I can hear, there is no weird noise.

Hi Joris,

My little nephew got hold of the whizzercone of one of my FE206E speakers. He folded the whizzer.

Sorry to hear that...

I managed to put it back to it's originaly shape. It looks oke now, but very faint lines can be seen where the whizzer folded. What should I do? As far as I can hear, there is no weird noise.

The result of that action is that the whizzer lost its strength, which is not always bad, but the character has changed. If you do not hear any differences then you should not do anything unless you were planning to give the drivers a coating (like C37) which will help to make it more stiff again. If you apply such coating then both drivers should be done...

Ciao,

Bert

Bert

It doesn't feel like the strength of the whizzer has changed. But this is heart to feel.

Thanks for the comment

Joris
