Orphean and BD30 (Orphean)

Hi Bert,

I have built a stand for my Oprhean horns in which I have built in the BD30 amps. Now there is a little hum which is induced by the transformer of the BD30. It can be heard when the orpheans are completly disconnected so there is no electrical connection to the BD30. While this shows some of the extraodinary sensitivity of this system, its still annyoing. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this or do I have to place the BD30 somewhere else? Maybe a metal housing for the amp would help (shield)?

Orphean and BD30

If the BD30 only hums when it is close to the Orphean horns then the signal is picked up by the internal filter. Best would be to have the BD30 placed somewhere else (at the bottom inside the bass enclosure works well). The Orphean horns are heavy enough for a stable placement. The suggestion to built the BD30 inside the stand is more suitable for the other Oris horns, they can use the extra weigth.

Ciao,

Bert
