hi all
idea of a 4way horn-speaker system.
Not time aligned, but in compensation mid-bass horn and mid-high would create a
one point source.
30hz - ~ 120hz
Bass cabinet similar to bassmaGC

driver cgn 18

~120hz - ~600hz
horn with 1m diameter
driver fane cres10mb

~ 600hz - 20khz
horn mounted inside mid-bass horn 0,40cm diameter
bms4592nd

Yep, what you missed is the small print :
bms4592nd
which is a two way unit (mounted in the frontmost horn I'd say) ...

Hi Angelo,

Sorry but I do not get much thrill seeing this... I forsee too many problems with such a setup.
You already mentioned time-alignment so I can leave out that remark for the bass part. Pity, because when done properly will be the only way to have the real feeling of dynamics and giving the least interference of the frequency respons of each driver (acoustical cancellation and amplification - time is also phase!).
To have a real working point source (with all audible advantages) can only be done when the drivers are time aligned too....
Another critical point (at least for me) would the achieved rather high listening height.
You migth get a real good sounding system though (its all big enough for reality!) but it would not be a system for me.
ciao,
Bert

hi bert
alternative would be above design. that approach
resolves time alignment.
what do u think ?

Hi Angelo,
Better...
You still could use the bass horns but then used as a table closer to your listening position to have that one better time aligned too...
BTW, the filter for the bass and for the mid-bass will also delay. Just having the coils time-aligned is too simplistic...

hi bert
could u make these filters ? use such a basshorn in a 30sqm room close to the listener would be quit crazy
tomorrow get my orpheans, start to tweak around

I can only make a filter when I have all speakers here to play with. Unless it is a closed box with a driver that is known to me (i.e. correct TS-parameters) then it is an option. Anything else is too much influenced by other parameters and therefore hardly optimal to design a filter for that.
With the bass horns on their side and short feet underneath them would not make them too grazy...?
Having horns with 1m in diameter in such a small room would be more grazy!

It is about time you receive them! Stupid customs there in Brazil...

....neither time aligned but that gives me some thrill!
