speaker out to line out for active crossover (Off Topic)

Hello,

I want to try an active crossover for the bass section, but I am using an integrated amp that does not have a line out. Is it possible to tap into the speaker ouput for this task? If yes, how can this be done? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Hi Dinh,

If you do not want to dig inside the integrated amp then you can use the speaker terminals to get the signal from. You'll have to reduce the gain back to line level though which can be done with a resitor in series (using the positive speaker connection and the positive RCA) towards the active filter.

The needed value depends on the gain reduction you need but try with a value between 100k and 1M to get the feeling which value you optimally should use. Also, connect the resistor as close as possible (or inside) the active filter to prevent noise...
