they don´t
they compare to Trio midbasshorn
and I´m not sure the world has moved forward
the Altec midbass has more thump and SLAM
the Trio´s might be grossly overprized:shame:
my "old towers" had no shortcomings except headroom, which I hopefully have rectified by my last/latest purchase

Hi Bert,

When I was a kid I went on holiday with my parents to a small farmhouse in the West Country. By then they had modern sanitation, but outside the main building, in a nicely built little house, was the old '3-holer' toilet, located above the stream! All very cosy for three members of the family to occupy at the same time.

However, I see that you have improved greatly on the situation, as you now have a 8-holer situated in your audio room. We Brits obviously need to move a little faster to keep up with our Dutch friends :)

Hey Jeremy,

Thanks for your objective post but somehow I am missing the point... could you enlighten me with one or more hints?

You know...me Dutch, serious guy with absolute no sense of humor?

Sorry Bert - my stupid sense of humour :) Don't know why, but when I first saw the photo my mind was dragged back to 60 years ago! No offense meant about your excellent looking speakers.

Thanks Jeremy,

Now I've got the picture...

Still I do not understand why it would be an improvement when 8 people are polluting the environment at the same time? I'd rather be on my own... :prankster:

What a Monster!

Actually 4 little monsters designed to be stacked... see topic "Fore Sale - Prototype bass enclosure..."

Is this Reference Reference of the Reference bass?

It is basically the same as the new Reference but then with more headroom to play with. If you have a normal listening room then it is not needed but if your house is a huge open space then it helps...

Yes, I work late... to collect extra 1k for mine Reference

Working on those at te very moment (!) as those little monsters are now packed to be collected tomorrow. Should now not take much longer than one week to complete the design...

...packages which are >80kg each! :strong:

Still looking as good as when it left my place, I guess the way to pack seems to work out just fine.

Things to do the coming weekend! :heat:

Have fun!
