hello B
have a very slight hum on one of my new basstowers
my 300B amps are only 200µVAC noise so they´re dead quiet
when shorting the bass amp input (incl.marchand line lvl filter and p84 eq-board)the BD-30 is dead quiet
but combined there´s a weak hum in the right channel
cable from 300B is hard twisted unshielded cotton sleeved ,4x4mm flat 99,99 fine silver..worked fine before
have experimented extensively with different grounding configs.
whole system is stargrounded in AC filter
have you ever tried any good isolation x-formers for this purpose?
I´m not shure that even this would help
the source may be stray fields from my music(-server) 1,2 meters away?
best
Leif

Hi Leif,

have you ever tried any good isolation x-formers for this purpose?

Nope, never did but are you sure the hum is due to a ground loop or something?

I´m not shure that even this would help

In case of a ground loop it will help, if not then it will not do anything as the hum is picked up somewhere else...

the source may be stray fields from my music(-server) 1,2 meters away?

So, then turn it off and listen if there is still hum left?

BTW. You could try a cheap Monacor line transformer and test it out yourself and if that helped then get a good quality version and you're done...
