ORELINO , please (Orelo/Orelino)

Hi Bert

a while ago you mentioned you would come out w/ a smaller version of the Orelo the ORELINO .
is there any progress on the prototype ?

i was looking into the orelo and might start soon to build a half orelo , but the wings seem to be quiet big for my home environment so i might try some smaller ones .
i have two altec 416c and two bd15 drivers and was considering putting the altec on the bottom and the bd15 on top of the baffle but i am not sure how these drivers would mix and match on the same channel. but i guess i have to try o find out .

anybody have a used pair of bd15 for sale ?

Hi db,

is there any progress on the prototype ?

Yes there is but they are not as small as people might expect.. size does matter!

It will be 115cm high, 50cm deep and 97mm wide at the mouth.

Appearance is a lot smaller though but still, you'll get used to them more easy.

It depends on how low you will cross but also how the drivers react to the same signal. The BD15's are 16 ohm drivers and if the Altec is 8 ohms then these will make more sound even if efficiency is the same.

Is there an initial drawing available?
like there is one of the Oreleo. Or is it just a matter of downscaling?
Accept for the mouth that wil be the same 170 mm?

... which will not take too long anymore, a few weeks left before showing them to the crowd...

Not yet...

Nope, its a different curve but downscaling the Orelo could be a good option.

This depends on the drivers you'll be using. The Orelino will have 12" drivers with a central long vertical phase plug, the Orelo is using 15" drivers.

Sounds very promising. I think this could be a good option to replace my Onken's!
Can't wait

Sounds interesting. size would be appropriate for me:good:
Why a smaller driver, why not BD15?

Full vs midi vs mini...

To get things clear for those who expect differently:

:read: When the Orelo is full size than the Orelino (or Oreline) is medium sized. :read:

It can't or will never be mini for real because then the whole concept will be something else.

I missed that one...?

The BD15 will make the system larger... but if you insist then you can built the Half Orelo?

Cheers,
