Do AER's have similar foams?

Not 100% but they can be made to fit as far as I can tell.

I wonder how much foams in AER responsible for the AER sound. What makes AER's sound different from Lowther, if the different foam is contributing a lot, then... hm

The spider is different and for a major deal responsible for the different sound but also the used paper, coil, coil former, used glues, used coating etc.

The info is more for people who want to repair their driver(s)spending less money (DIY). Lowther only supplies completed new front parts and AER too but AER is also willing to repair if you ask friendly.

Cheers,

By the way, local gurus say that the foam on such drivers lives about 10 years but the sound is reaching its potential only on 3rd or 4th year and then improves and relaxes even more. So the advise is not to touch slightly broken drivers until the sound itself starts to audibly deteriorate. When you repair or get new drivers, expect several years of settling in.
