Hi Bert,

Something changed on the forum layout, isn't it? Or is it my browser... (IE)
Either way; it's much clearer now.:good:

I am working in the background updating the forum. Glad you've noticed some error's disappearing. ;-)

...and functional (I hope). Should be working more than okay now...next thing is to change colours (a lot darker!) having the same "feeling" as the new coming website.

Will take a while longer so do not get scared away! Layout will be the same so you can get used to what's there now...

Hi Bert,

IMHO, White on black is really a dreadful choice of colour scheme (for legibility)...

Perhaps it is something to get used to? I have tried out several colour schemes and this looks most relaxed to my old eyes with still a clear view for reading.

Perhaps I can make it more greyish than black as compromise?

Greyish was better...
Legibility is important. The old forum scheme was perfect. This new one seems... well... questionable..

Perhaps your monitor does not show the brightness and contrast correctly?

You should be able to clearly distinguish all 10 different 'greys' equally.

Reduced brightness

I have changed the white into a light grey so that the letters are less bright for better legibility.

Thanks.

I still say that it is a very poor choice of colour scheme,
Making it different does not make it better. There are very good reasons why more traditional colour schemes are the norm.

Anyway. keep up the good work on your products Bert.

The recipe for a good Website is to make sure most viewers are getting it, despite of the size or quality of their monitors. If you design a website according to personal preferences, instead of legibility (or accessibility), you are not doing anyone a favour.

WWW 101.

I used to enjoy reading this forum and looking at the evolution of your products. Now this new scheme makes the experience somewhat annoying and less attractive. It may sound finicky, but if I have that reaction, it probably is the reaction of many other visitors as well.
