Flat paint for horns? (BD-Design)

So, I was thinking that I need to change the color of my horns. Right now they are white with a shiny clear coat. I was thinking I could sand them down and paint them with a flat/satin paint, no shiny clear coat. Would this effect the sound compared to the shiny clear coat finish?

I think this is not a problem
but painted horns sound better then unpainted i think it is not because the finish but the damping of the paint on the horns.

As Robert mentioned, it is more about sufficient layers of (hardened) paint to dampen the horn although I recently have a shiny coating again which seems to sound a bit more clear but not by much.
