BD15 Mass rolloff (BD-Design)

by GC, Monday, May 02, 2005, 10:34 (6906 days ago)

I would like to use the BD15 in a fronthorn covering the range 80-500 Hz but the mass rolloff for the BD15 is maybe to low?

Mass rolloff: 2*Fs/Qes = 2*39/0,26 = 300 Hz.

I know that the mass rolloff frequency doesn't tell everything...

Any experience?

BD15 Mass rolloff

Hi KBSP (sounds like a radio station...),

I know that the mass rolloff frequency doesn't tell everything...

The acoustical response is mostly different and depends on the character of the driver and the horn in front of it. A good way to play with the horn and a certain driver is simulating the response with Hornresp written by David J. Macbean ( I lost the link to be able to download it though, its not mentioned in the program itself).

Check google, I am sure that you can find it.

Ciao,

Bert
