Hi Bert
My BD15 'Reference' cabinets are standing on carpet on a concrete floor. Would they benefit from being on 'feet', spikes etc
Cheers Chris

Yes, for sure! Spikes down until they touch the concrete!
Cleaner and more tight bass as result...
Ciao,
Bert

Hi Ivo,
My Scala's are also on carpet on a concrete floor. Do you recommend
spikes?
I have used them with cones, works well. The horn should be stable (not wiggling). As opposite suggestion you could try rubbers, the sound becomes more round and full which can be nicer with the LaScala.
Ciao,
Bert

Dear Chris,
Perhaps just a hint: my friend have AV duo on carpet and he remooved spikes and put a cork (using for big bootles - I do not know exact name) under the bass cabinets. Better results.
Best regards,
Gasper.

Hi Gasper
I have my Hedlunds standing on oak feet like these.

They work very nicely, so I might knock some up for the Reference boxes.
Spikes are great but with heavy boxes on carpet they are aNoying when experimenting with positioning of the cabinets, particularly if you're on your own.
Cheers Chris

You could find the place first and optimise. After making the final decision you can then put spikes (3 under each enclosure!) under them, the sound differences will not interfere with the placement and filter settings...

Better results for that person and the system used...., Chris' bass enclosure is only doing deeper bass and then (in my opinion) spikes work best.
Cork works well under CD-transports, amps and such too...
