USB audio, Foobar question (BD-Design)

by GC, Saturday, July 02, 2005, 13:30 (6844 days ago)

Hi guys. I need help on Foobar setup from those of you who are already in USB audio. I finally got my audio dedicated notebook (thanks Bert) and in the process of setting the software up. Please bear in mind that I am a novice in the music-stored-on-a-computor thing.

When visiting Bert, I noticed that music albums could be displayed as icons with their album covers. How do you do it in Foobar?? Also, this whole Playlist business is new to me and a bit confusing. I found this Complete Guide to Foobar 2000 on the net but it was useless for the above issues http://www.techspot.com/tweaks/foobar/

Ah, it would be so nice if we could pull up resources together and make a manual for USB audio setup.:-P

Thank you,
Dmitry.

USB audio, Foobar question

Hi Dmitry,

Did you read these pages?

and:

When visiting Bert, I noticed that music albums could be displayed as
icons with their album covers. How do you do it in Foobar??

I did not do this within foobar. Its a feature of Windows XP where the normally looking directories can be configured large with an image on top. We are working on a new player though, that one will configure the hardware automaticly, show pictures and uses foobar (in the back ground) as player software.

Ciao,

Bert

USB audio, Foobar question

Hi Bert:-)

Thank you, some of it I already applied. I am not home yet, still in Asia, but will be very soon. For now, just wanted to understand Foobar and EAC. Figured out the icons.

But, where would one get the album pictures, other than scanning them

Cheers,
Dmitry.

Good, you're then not too much a computer novice afterall...

But, where would one get the album pictures, other than scanning them

www.amazon.com where you can search for a CD. Most of them show a picture of the cover. You can even share your own pictures with them.

If amazon doesn't have a picture then I usually do a search through www.google.com. There are more websites that show pictures which might be even a better place to be but I don't know where these are...

Ciao,

Bert

Additional hardware configuration...

by GC, Tuesday, January 09, 2007, 12:12 (6288 days ago) @ GC

Hi all,

Some additional things were posted to the configuration settings as descibed at:

http://www.bd-design.nl/forum/index.php?id=9434

Very important to change that too....

After restart you then will not hear any Windows sounds or be able to play any sound through the soundcard though. The sound will now only be directed to the USB DAC...

Here is a direct link to the new message.
