BD15 vs Altec 416A (8ohm) (BD-Design)

Hi Chris,

So what to do?

1. Get another pair of BD15s so I have two per side.
2. Use EQ to bring up the volume.

It's probably not too difficult to guess your response. If it's to add two BD15s together, is the volume simply doubled or will the amp now see an 8 ohm load and produce still more volume?

Both and at least EQ the deeper bass as well...

2x BD15 in parallel will give 8 ohms plus at least +6dB more output for the same volume setting.

The extra BD15 will get you more headroom to compensate the loss of the enclosed volume.

Cheers,

Bert
