Orphean update.. (BD-Design)
Hi All,
I have tested several types of capacitors with the Orphean system. The only capacitors that improved the sound are those made by Duelund Coherent Audio.
The standard very good sounding filter is build-up using paper/oil capacitors where needed and already has Duelund carbon/silver resistors althrough. Further optimalisation as more clarity, more dynamics and more detail, without adding sharpness, is possible using Duelund capacitors for the mid- and high range. The options (at extra costs, excluding value added tax):
- Duelund copper foil capacitor for the midrange (+196 Euro the pair) or as bypass (+101 Euro the pair)
- Duelund copper foil capacitor for the tweeter (+101 Euro the pair)
- Duelund copper foil capacitors for the midrange and tweeter althrough (+297 Euro the pair)
- Duelund silver foil capacitor for the midrange (+1.649 Euro the pair) or as bypass (+826 Euro the pair)
- Duelund silver foil capacitor for the tweeter (+826 Euro the pair).
- Duelund silver foil capacitors for the midrange and tweeter althrough (+2.475 Euro the pair)
Ciao,
Bert

Orphean update..
that the strong point of the AER speakers (no capacititors)
i have totaly no capacitors in the whole signal way
exept the bass filter
they always infected the sound, the best capacitor is no capacitor
Orphean update..
Hi Robert,
the best capacitor is no capacitor
Yep, I fully agree with that but...
Ciao,

Orphean update..
the best capacitor is no capacitor
Only if the capacitor is NOT needed.
Best regards

Orphean update..
A couple of weeks I heard a commercial 2 way speaker without a capacitor up to 3 kHz. After that session, the decision was clear and bought the Orphean immediately.
... I hereby rest my case

Hi Rudolf
If any "electronics" would work without components, well it would be good. But it is of course not so.:nah:
To have "no components" as a guarantee for quality is in my opinion a mistaken beleif.
The Orphean beats everything.....and quite some components have been used to get there.
