Positioning the reference ultra bass (BD-Design)

I have some questions regarding the reference ultra bass:
How much free space is needed at the side where the bass reflex port is?
I guess it wouldn't work correctly if I put some piece of furniture directly at this side, it would close the port. Is half a meter enough? How much space is needed in the height? Could you put a table there?
And I guess the ports of the two bass boxes should face each other, i.e. point to the center, right?

50 cm space around the port is enough to keep it tuned at the same frequency.
How much space is needed in the height? Could you put a table there?
Table is no problem unless it is in front of the horns... :wink:
And I guess the ports of the two bass boxes should face each other, i.e. point to the center, right?
Yes, this usually gives the best respons.
