Hi Bert
You make the best speaker in this world, I have had some speaker in the past some of them 3 time more money them the Oris, but they sound always ... With out see and heard the Oris. I bought The Reference Ultra from Robert Maessen (He is very Goodman) for testing. Now I'm very happy to say, "you are the best of the best"
Anyway I'm going to build bass cabinets for the Oris Reference Ultra. My Q What is the best material to make them sound best?

Why do you want to built new bass cabinets, the ones you have are already the Oris Reference Ultra bass enclosures....?

Okay, now I understand. If you want to paint them then sand them first and use a primer coating as first layer. On top of that you can paint the enclosures in any colour you prefer.
Same for the horns (I believe that the top horns are not painted yet). You can read the on-line Oris manual for some more information about painting the horns. Here is a direct link:
