Hi Bert,

Why are the new phase plugs made of transparent plastic? Is it so they can be painted like the horns or is there some other reason. I ask because they aren't very visible from 4meters away, making the drivers look rather naked.
Also, since they are not symetrical like the old phase plugs, is there a certain direction they should be aligned for best sound?

I have had them in solid material, even in the same color as the horn but it all looked weird from the listening position. The only thing showing was the internal hollowness of the "tube". Making them transparent looks much nicer, more sophisticated, less "present", reflecting the color of the horn and the pole plate (golden with AER drivers).

Also, since they are not symetrical like the old phase plugs, is there
a certain direction they should be aligned for best sound?

Both plugs should have their opening facing up.

Ciao,

Bert
