Hi Rudolf,

Very nice, what is the description of the color ... amazing silvery white
?

Depends on the light they catch! Its light beige with green and red pearl shades. No real description can be given for the color as it is always different if somebody is trying to get exact the same results...

The painter who did this could come close (he knows what and how much he did) but it will never be a perfect match (as with most "alive" pearl shades).

Ciao,

Bert

As long as the match with great Orphean sound is kept, we are OK :biglol:

Beautiful and elegant Bert, very nice.
This paint is expensive, but who cares when it looks like that! I have seen a nice curvy old car in this and it was beautiful in the sun. Mostly black but with purple highlights. I think it was this as a base with a clear over the top tinted dark cherry colour. It was spooky, It looked like the purple was a few centimteres below the surface.

From a company called "House of Kolor" They have a good website.

I know about those colours, very nice indeed but only for cars and motorcycles. For a show model it could be nice too to put that on a horn but I am not sure if you want to look at it as standing object in your living room as it does not move and will always looks the same from your listening position...?

Playing with colors... making art.

I usually listen with my eyes closed but I would not be happy to leave them in primer.
The evenly coloured horns with the visual texture of the timber seem too much of a contrast to my taste.
The organic shape (particularly the swings) looks alive.
To me these special effect paints give the horns some life to fit with the living textures of the timber.

Why make it just furniture when you can make it a sculpture.
A pair of swings with a hand made amplifier and turntable in Tate Modern Art Gallery would not look out of place.

Oh I wish I had the space and WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) for a pair of swings.
I'm having enough trouble getting the gardening done so I can start on my singulars. :dntknw:

Hi Mike,

A few mistakes I think  :

The organic shape (particularly the swings) looks alive.

This is one thing to keep in mind, at judging the next :

Oh I wish I had the space and WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) for a pair of
swings.

Unless you mean that *you* need the WAF (which would semanthically be correct I think), the main mistake is that the Swing just has.
What it comes to, is that your sentence is correct : as it *will* turn out, you are the one not having the WAF, because the Swing has a tad too much of it. Every woman will fall in love with at least one of them.

Btw, I'm serious. As I told elsewhere, the shape has a muscular something which can't be avoided by a woman. The indeed organic looks make them feel in love. Trust me. :heat:

I'm having enough trouble getting the gardening done

Then that is the place where you have the design wrong !

Right on the spot. :pleasantry:

Let me confess here. My favorit wife, less favorit ones, and all possible wemen passing this territory of surrounding with my SWINGs sculptures. They all say, or sing as a choire: These speakers are much more beautiful than your previous ones.
Am I overlooked? :unhappy:

In case, let it be then.

What happened there, your place?

I'm having enough trouble getting the gardening done

Hmmm..... anything to do with your fload-on-water tweak?

Then that is the place where you have the design wrong !

Agreed..

Playing with colors...and standards

Hi Bert

Always thought it would be nice with a few a few standard colors for your horns and a few standard veneers for your cabinets.

The shown could be one of them together with your "pearl".

Your painter could maybe together with you, find say the most "likeable", eventhough I know how difficult it is to target peoples taste for colors etc.
But much info could be explored from the car industry.

With a few standard options for both horns and cabinets, people could shuffle the cards as to their likes.

Little bit off this topic, but still within line of the obove philosophy:

My own Swings came with Pearl Horns and oil/polished cherrybery veneer acc. to my order and taste.
I wanted the veneer to darken over time and wouldn't like a laque with a light-block'er (anti-ultraviolet light). Hence the choice of oil.
By a closer thought, the veneer should maybe have had a bit shine as to match the horns a dash better in that respect. The color contrast on the contrary is becomming better and better every day as the cherrybery darkens.

The day the darkening process has settled, I will post a before/after pic.

Standard?

by Bert @, Monday, March 12, 2007, 12:08 (6265 days ago) @ GC

Hi GC,

All I am and what I do is hardly about standard, except perhaps for "Only the best!"

There are already enough standards around in this world, the freedom of getting something from me not being standard suits me and customers appreciating custom made better to fulfil their wishes and needs.

Of course I can show some examples of what is possible but basically almost anything is an option.

I follow you Bert. All customized to customers wish.

Were merely thinking of those poor people who have no idea about how to combine. The re-do button is an expensive one to touch. :pleasantry:
