Hi Bert,

Is there any progress in determine which capacitors sound best in your BD30? I understood BG is no longer available...
Did you also make up your mind for providing it to the DIY's? I really would want to know...:grin:

Nope, the FR series (much lower impedance which is good if you are looking for good bass!). Perhaps for the CrazyA amps the FC would be preferable though...

Yes and testing with Panasonic FR capacitors working out very well... :cool:

Did you also make up your mind for providing it to the DIY's? I really would want to know...:grin:

Yes, these are for DIY and not that much worse than the BG's. A bit less "square" being more rounded in the bass but very well controlled.

Still wiping the floor with all those Class D and switching amps by much! :clapping:

BD-30 is a terrific amp!
should have bought more than 4 while I had the chance!maybe one for each BD15?:grin:
any point in that?what´s the value of those BG N in the BD-30 again?

It will be absolutely useless to add extra amps. Adding more BD15's would do a lot more... :bass:

what´s the value of those BG N in the BD-30 again?

I have quite a few lying around in my "workshop":cool:

You'll need 12 for each amplifier...

Yep, those are the ones used and getting more expensive than they already were!

Perhaps I should sell the last series I have here in pairs and not use them for the BD30's anymore... ;-)

That's all which is different, the smaller BG's on the printed board are widely more available so this can remain the same for a while... :cool:

Thanks, that's good news! :grin: Will it be a complete kit or a ready built board for DIY? And do you have any idea about the price and delivering options?

It will be something similar as previously done with the BD30's. The amp board will be fully completed and assembled on an Aluminum plate with transformer, the only thing left for you to do will be connecting the input, output and the mains to it to have it fully operational.

Price will be 389 Euro for the pair (VAT and also crossovers, plugs, binding posts and such not included).

Bert, I see BD30 amplifiers referenced a lot but can't find anything about them on the website?

I have the impression that they are a gainclone variant but might be wrong? Where can I find out more about them?

It is a gainclone variant yes but it can't be found on the website anymore. It was discontinued due to the limited available Black gate capacitors for the power supply. The original BD30 is only available for completed systems but that will end pretty soon too as I am almost out of stock now.

The new BD30mkII will replace them though...
