My 'full' Orelo DIY attempt (Orelo/Orelino)

Hi all,

This is my first post on this forum, but I've been following for a while, especially regarding the Orelo projects.
I've had the chance to listen to the Orelo at Bert's, and decided to have a go at building a pair of these.

It's been a couple of weeks now, I sure did underestimate the time it takes to build one of these, and today I finally got to perform the first tests

I still have to put the back panels on, veneer this first Orelo and obviously the mid-high Oris horn is still missing, but the first test was successful.

I haven’t been able to measure anything so far, but based on the sound quality they should measure just fine.
Very nice and deep bass response while very clean and well controlled :good:

I’m looking forward to building the second one and fine-tune everything in combination with the Oris horns.
As I can only work on them during the weekend it will probably take a few more weeks, but it’s certainly worth.

Hereby some pictures:

Thanks a lot Bert for the design and all the help you’ve provided.

Best regards,
Diederik

Very nice work! Please share your test results.

I too underestimated how much work it takes to create one of these. You did a very nice job.

Keep the pictures coming.

Thanks Bert & Rudy81,

I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Unfortunately I can't measure anything for the time being, but I will share my test results as soon as I receive the Tascam US-366 I ordered to connect the microphone to my PC.

Hey Diederik,

Nice job and such progress for just weekends... :good:

The efforts will be paid back in years of listening pleasure.

Keep us posted!
