FE206E front horn (BD-Design)

Hi,

I found this front horn project using Fe206E driver : http://perso.wanadoo.fr/rififi/hifi/fabrication1.html. It uses compession chamber in front on the driver. Anybody knows what are advantages/disadvantages of this design comparing to oris?

Thanks Martin

Yes, I think I do. The horn built there is very effective in the low-mid frequencies (between 150-500Hz) with a gradual roll-off into the high frequencies. I am not sure where the system is crossing to the tweeter but I don't think that the midrange is in balance with the rest of the frequency spectrum unless there is some EQ or filtering hidden somewhere.

I can't read French too well, perhaps its mentioned somewhere in the descriptions...?

Ciao,

Bert

Hi,

Thanks for response. I have used auto-translation tool. If you click on the last thumbnail you can see whole system. It seems that he doesn't use any sort of EQ. Tweeter is crossed with only 1uF cap. Fe206e runs unfiltered. He stated that HF roll-off starts at 16KHz.

Thanks Martin
