Onken response (BD-Design)
Bert,
If you do come acros that picture it would be helpful. I'm interetsed in their behaviour abouve 180hz.
I thought about your idea of using the Onken's for HT subwoofers, but I actually think they are too good for that. They could form the basis of a really good pair of speakers (they do with the Oris!).
I have been wondering about pairing them with a Fostex driver, either in some kind of box, or on an open baffle. I also had a crazy idea about using some Mangers, but thay are way too expensive - if I could spend that kind of money I'd be buying BD3s ;)
The main thing for me would be to achieve a well balanced sound using a passive crossover, and something that was well integrated visually.
Do you have any ideas? Finding a good cheap solution to this could be helpful to other current and prospective Oris owners, as it could put a further step in the upgrade path from Oris 150 or 200 through to the Ultra.
Cheers,
Russell
Hi Russell,
A long time ago somebody posted a picture of some measurements they had
made of your Onken woofers. Do you still have that set of measurements?
I remember somebody did published some measurements but I can't remember
where that was.You could use them combined in one enclosure and use them as subwoofer
(HT)....Ciao,
Bert
